I have Atlantis. It is in it's 3rd year I think and it must have a hundred leaves on it but they are still small....next year I hope the leaves grow and get that nice color and shape to them.

Pauls Glory is eating everything around it.It's about 4 ft across. Jurassic Park is also looking good.

Lindalana, Leaping Lizard came from Green Hill Farm 2015. It did poorly the first year, I moved it in the fall and forgot where I moved it. But it’s pretty recognizable and doing so well I dare not move it again!

Just had to add a couple more. This was a great year. Everything leaped forward a lot. We had a lot of rain last year and very warm a dry this year.

diannez3b this is a great thread. Its nice to see what is looking good in August. One mistake I have made, and will make a gain, is falling in love with a plant in June that I see on a tour only to find out, after $30, that it's the only month it looks good.

Yes I have found that out also. I also like to see them when they are close to full size rather than something that was just planted because they can look so different then. And I have found out that there are so many out there that are not as well known but are really nice.

If I had seen that pic of Dark Star I would have picked it up from the auction last Sunday. I did bid on it, but not very enthusiastically.

zkathy- I was looking for info on Leapin’ Lizard and noticed there’s only one photo in the Library, and not a super great one at that.... your photos above would be a great addition to that entry!

I've become a big fan of Dark Star, also. This one is planted in a difficult site, but performs quite well (photo taken today). It's definitely one of those "hidden gems" IMO.

My other fantastic late season performers are, June, First Frost, Jetstream, World Cup, Regal Splendor, and Star Power.

Dark Star is a fascinating plant. Every photo I see of it is just stunning.

Massive storms went north over the lake so it's just muggy here--another heat wave due here next week. It's been nice this past week--rain and cooler but the 90's will return and the air conditioning is already on again.

Diane, my Lakeside Shoremaster is still quite small (I've had it for 2 years) how old is yours? I would love if mine would grow a bit more rapidly.

It is 3 or 4 years old. It was a large division when I ordered it online. I just took this picture. It is about 3 ft across.

it's been a rainy week..took these just before the sun went down tonight..#1 Royal Standard..#2 probably Elegans, Halcyon, August Moon, Krossa Regal..varieties that I bought when I moved in..#3 Seducer?, Blue Mouse Ears, August Moon, Golden Tiara..

I hope that third picture has Seducer in it, Anne. I’d love to know it can stay good looking until this time of year. Mine is a ratty mess and just got replanted again in hopes of pleasing it next year. I’ve been thinking that it was too aptly named.

Kathy..Ha!..I asked for help to id this one (here when I moved in) and Seducer was the best fit..it's been a good one for me..it gets a tiny bit more light than a lot of my hostas..was just dumb luck that I put it there..I liked the look of it next to August Moon..I hope yours takes off in the new location..
