Does the TV have to stay where it is? It's very high

Now to answer your question. One idea would be to have the sofa face the fireplace with tall cabinet that's now to the left of the fp on the wall where the sofa was. Place the matching chairs on either side of the fp. Without seeing the actual floor plan and dimensions, I'm not sure where to place the recliner.

I feel the same way as jck does about the TV looking awfully high for ease of viewing. If you are willing to change that I would have other suggestions.

Lower that TV, upgrade the ceiling fan, move the chair from in front of that beautiful cabinet. What's that on the other side of the fireplace?

Unless you prefer to cut the room in half by closing it off I would float everything as Sewciable suggested but to keep it flowing I would keep the way you have it place both pattern chairs together with side in between facing front at sofa not at in an angle.

I was thinking of viewing the TV when I suggested moving the sofa. I agree, that wouldn't be my choice if the TV could be moved.

Place an end table with table lamp between the sofa and chair

Place a canvas above the sofa

So nor use the light from the fan.

Add an accent light over the cabinet

Select a larger rug for the room

Agree with rug, furniture placement advice above. I would also get a white "hugger" ceiling fan so it disappears.

When you get a larger rug, center it on the fireplace. Pull all the furniture onto the rug. If you watch TV from the sofa, have it face the fireplace and the chairs can either flank the flank the fireplace for be where the sofa is now. Arrange your seating so everyone can talk without shouting across the room.

A second look suggests to me the TV could go to the left of the fireplace on an articulating arm. Then arrange it so two seats face the fireplace and the other two face the window. That would put the TV at a better height for viewing and keep it from being the focus of the room.

I just noticed you have three chairs in the room. None of them relate to the sofa or to each other. Think of a seating arrangement roughly as a circle where every sitter can look at every other sitter without turning their head.
