wall color help

Hello, I am finally going to start working in my basement! It’s long overdue. The only thing staying in these pictures is the rug. Everything else will be gone. I just ordered new sofas, see pictures attached. My question is what color shall I paint the brown wall? I wouldn’t mind it all blue to match the other walls. I want it to be bright and airy and since the furniture will be darker already. I will paint doors and trims all white too and curtains will be switch out to white shades. Tv stand and coffee suggestions all welcome. Thanks

Pale blue and light gray are fairly close to each other in tone, and they may just sort of blend in together.
I would paint the walls in a light-to-medium aqua which has more contrast. You already have aqua pillows which are beautiful with the gray. You could keep the curtains you have as simple panels on the sides of the window and add the white shades for privacy and light control. The bedding could be changed to aqua and white. Framed art in brown frames will connect with the tv cabinetry and the flooring.

Sorry forgot to mentioned that the new sofas showed looks so much lighter it’s actually a very dark grey sofa. And I was worried it may be too dark for the space.

Plus there will no longer be any bedding. It’s just all living space.

Is the tan carpeting staying, too?

Are you still going to use this space as a bedroom or are you repurposing it?

This space will just be all living space and yes the carpet is staying....the rug and the new sofa and chase are all staying...everything else is gone.

Will you need additional seating, a table to sit at for games as an example or any other furniture you haven't mentioned. Or is the plan the 2 sofas, a coffee table and a TV console and call it good?

For now just the sofa, chase, a new coffee table and new higher tv stand and tv. Open to suggestions.

How large of a TV are you going to? What is your budget for coffee table, and TV stand?

    Thinking a 72inch tv

    $400 or less.

If you go with a 72" TV, you probably are looking at least a 80" console. Will that size work in the space? Also, is there an option to mount the TV on the wall?

Just trying to get sense of your style besides modern.

What do you like or don't like about this?

I love the dark grey couch and think that will anchor the space nicely. I would paint the walls white for a nice contrast and pull it all together with fun patterned pillows, drapes etc that can be switched out easily as accents.

Not just that one wall but all four walls white correct? I like modern and mid century with some rustic or a little barn house.

There is room around the sofa area that becomes a studio too.

Figure out the furniture and accessories before you settle on a paint color. It appears that the rug is more cream than white? On my monitor the carpet is showing pink. Does it tend to have a pink undertone?

Was that TV console to contemporary for your taste?

I think it’s the lighting that’s making it looks ok cream and pink. I do like the tv stand, just thought maybe it’s too dark? I know it’s low so if I keep it, I’ll have to do some kind of shelf above tv.

I was referring to the one I posted. The white one.

As far as you current TV console, if you moved it down and away from the window and then had a larger TV that you put on the wall, it would probably work without having to add a shelf. Though I don't know how it would line up for TV viewing. Where is the chaise going?

Is your TV console 2 pieces whereas you could you use just one section of it?

Hi, sorry, I do like the one you’ve posted as well. I’ve decided to sell my two tables and paint the entire room a light grey and paint all trims white, hoping this will brighten the room and moved the sofa and chase is here, I’ll work around the tv bench. I was thinking the sofa would go where the old sofa is and chase would go where the bed is but closer towards tv. Unless I switch the wall of tv to sofa. I’ll have to update a drawing abd measurements since it’s a odd space.

Okay everyone, The sofas are here, got new tv stand. Here is what I have so far. Excuse the mess and the blue tape and missing doors as it’s still getting painted. Looking for suggestions on layout and what to do with wall art.
