Hello everyone,

I’m new to lawn care and just started seriously taking care of my lawn for the first time.

I started this year in May and have learned so much already.

I water my grass by hand generously 2 times a week and sometimes a third day a week with this summer heat here in the Midwest.

My lawn is around 4,500 square feet and I’ve just recently began measuring each rectangle and portion of my property to get the exact square footage to better follow fertilizing and other maintance required amounts.

I used milorganite for the first time a little over a month ago and some herbicides a few months before that and now my property’s grass this even in this summer is of the greenest and most weed free lawns in the area.

I’m enjoying the process and seeing the progression but a particular area of the grass near the front of my house always shows quick defeat and browning/yellowing as soon as the sun beams hot 2 or more days in a row. The other grass around it gets affected but nowhere near as much as the burnt look this 15 foot wide section shows.

I do have this information: my house is a new construction house only 2.5 years old. It was a tear down of an older home that used to be there and I doscovered that this 15 foot wide brown easily scorched part of my grass used to be where the old driveway of the old house was.

I’m guessing because it was never truly grass there all the years it’s why it’s showing the most stress and wear?

I attached some photos. Please let me know if I should just lealove that alone during these high heat days of consistent 88-90 degree weather or if I should add more seeds in the fall, thicken it up with supplements and nutrition and have it ready to combat in the years to come?
