Cabinet hood is peeling!

We just installed new kitchen cabinets. They are wood and painted white.We had the cabinet hood above our stove custom built. The cabinet hood was installed and I noticed that it’s peeling! According to my contractor, the cabinet company uses a veneer tape and the tape is peeling at both corners of the hood. Should I ask for the hood to be replaced or for them to try to repair it?
