It depends on if you are planning to keep the blinds or replacing with some other window covering. Are you getting the lamps from a place that takes returns? If so, I'd get them and try them out. That way, you'll know if the height works, if the shine is ok, and if the lamps have the right "bulk" for the room.

I like your night stands. Why you want a red base lamp in your bedroom? What you have red in room?

I do not like your shades at all. May be you can go with roman shades from the ceiling? It would make your embrasures as windows.

Ahh the blinds, in previous threads about picking the dressers people had commented on the blinds. Not sure they are going to be changed. Blinds are expensive. I’ll lookk into what it would cost. For the lamp, I’m not sure what color.

I would get rid of the brown blinds. Even white would have been better.

Thanks Beverly. I think I tend to lean mid century ish in some cases. what I do want is something clean and crisp, I don’t like things that are ornate, I much prefer more simple lines.

Do what Manon Floreat said--the bottom of the shade a bit lower than your eyes when sitting up in bed. The rule that the bottom of the shade should be at the top of the headboard wouldn't work with a very short or very tall headboard.
