I would also add a throw pillow in a woven print that has a little red in it to the chairs so they don't look like orphans.

Someone once told me not to put anything on the chairs bec they should be seen!! I did once upon a time have pillows on them!

I like that the painting has the red in it. It is a focal point, but I think repeating it in the ottoman dilutes it. I would stick with a gray. No pillows for the chairs. They are cool. Move the sectional away from the walls a few inches.

Look at this images that Irene Morresey put up on another thread here to see how fantastic the red ottoman looks. Repeating an accent color is what we are supposed to when decorating, and not repeating it is what dilutes it. Throw pillows enhance the comfort of a chair and add color, they don't disguise the chair.

I like wall art too. Designers teach us to pick up color and then to repeat it.

Yes to the red ottoman. But no to pillows on chairs. They're called "throw" pillows for a reason-- because they get thrown on the floor every time you want to sit down.

THANKS EVERYONE!! I love grey as well and this is an open concept area with marble backsplash in my kitchen. The ottoman MUST have storage and I am hoping not to pay an arm and a leg for it!

I also love the wishbone chairs, but they're really more appropriate for a dining room. Does anyone sit there? And if they do, do they stay a long time? Maybe that's the object: to encourage guests not to stay too long.

The chairs were purchased at HomeSense a few years ago! As for whether anybody sits in them, I guess it all boils down to personal preference. I chose them bec I have a small space and they don't close the sight lines off to the kitchen. Most people assemble at the kitchen island located behind the chairs. If people want to sit in them, there are pillows for them to place behind their backs. Now, what about that Ottoman I asked about?

Found red pillows today!! Need to get another white one and a few more grey ones!! Still looking for that ottoman. I had no luck today but the search continues!!

Celerygirl, apparently they are sold out of the ottoman that you copied in the link. Living in a border city, I tried to see if it was available in the States but no such luck.
