painting larger than sofa

Hi- I am assisting someone with decorating their condo. They purchased a couch and a large scale painting that is larger than the width of the couch. How can I hang this painting behind the couch without it looking odd. Open to suggestions of rearranging room. The white couch is now gone and replaced with the blue grey .
