A Reverence For Roses Inc

We have had a good summer here in central Florida. Our rain fall has been frequent to avoid watering our mother plants that grow outside. Temperatures have been average for this time of year with clouds coming off and on through out the day, helping to tame the humidity.

As we get more organized and recognize our weaknesses there are times we over produce some varieties and to the frustration of customers fail to propagate other varieties. We are making changes to alleviate this, we ask for your patience.

NEW VARIETIES:
We have added 3 new varieties to inventory, they are in limited numbers at this time. The varieties are;
Anna Olivier
'Laujuzan Tea'Miss Agnes C. Sherman

SALE VARIETIES:
The following varieties are on sale through Sunday September 2nd. They are priced at 2 for $29.00. You must buy 2 or more at this price. You may mix or match. I recently saw their name somewhere, and with a name like that I figured they must be good:) So I subscribed..I am lookin at Elina (must have-never seen so many raving reviews)and louise estes and kaiserin auguste victoria and hawkeye belle...this is my attempt at ordering only two..lol. I have 35 -40 waiting to go into the ground. And I Still want Deelish, Yves piaget. Also fate keeps pushing these sales on me, how do you resist? The other day went to Homedepot and stumbled across a large 2g blooming Colette. was a steal @$15. This is how i ended up with outta the blue, above all, vavoom and coral dawn.

Elina does very well in Florida but she does not have much scent, if any.

Sheila, their emails might be in your spam filter. That's where I found my first one!

That's a GREAT list of varieties!

The roses I ordered from them last year were all BIG and healthy and perfectly packaged. This is a great source for roses. Lovely personal communications via e-mail. I must resist ordering but am very tempted by Sui Mei Ren, among others.

down to three choices now, can't decide between Casino and Elina. The third choice is Lemon Spice.

Any input from people who have grown either one-Casino or Elina?

Purilisa, here is a picture of Casino. The yellow color does not fade. I hope you enjoy all the roses you've obtained.

I have Elina. Mine is on fortuniana because I am in zone 10 South Florida. She is probably one of my healthiest roses. She does not black spot. She puts out nice blooms that are quite large. Also, I don't know if you get chili thrips, but they seem to leave her alone. That is huge plus. But to be fair, I don't know if it is because of her, or they just happen to like some of my other roses better.

    Are their roses grafted?

    They’re own root roses.

I don’t see MAC on his list. I keep losing this rose. Got 4 bands last year, 1 went to voles, 2 got rooted root didn’t make it, the only 1 left finally bloomed, but it was a wrong rose! I am still looking for MAC ........

I wish I could help you, but mine died due to poor placement, freeze//thaw and bunny rabbits. : (( It was too young to withstand such an onslaught. I hope someday to get a cutting as it's a large rose and someone must have it. : (( I just don't feel like buying another, but ARE carries it and they have a good sale at Thanksgiving with delivery whenever you want.

Thanks! I :-) ARE’s shipping cost to NY is high, they put heavy dirt in their pots, I don’t want to pay for the dirt. Lol

I might call AFR ask for one, he is always nice, he’d sell me one if he has any. I got a big band from him before, but voles ate it during the winter months.

ARE's cybermonday and valentine's day sale is free shipping. I should have said that. The roses are same price, but free shipping. I feel with the size of their roses and the fact that one can specify delivery make them a steal. I think one has to order 4 roses, but that wasn't a problem for me.

Thanks! I could do that. That's far away though.......have to wait. Lol

Yes! The waiting is hard, but planning my list gives me something to do when I can't sleep! : )) My main problem with ARE is that I'm rapidly buying all those appropriate for my climate, wants and needs. : (( I'm also exhausting those from HCR and since Chamblee has cut back on its offerings so much, it's almost useless for me, but they still have some I'm ordering. Then I guess I'll have to rely on Burling! That's OK as I'm MUCH better taking care of bands and growing them large by the end of summer.
