if you look at the myhosta dB in the library. ... you will see very few seedling crosses out of SM .... most are sports ....

in fact.. i thought it was sterile ...

so im thinking IF you get any viable seed .. they may not amount to anything ...

but that shouldnt stop you from trying .... and reporting back ,... ken

I’ve seen a few seedlings out of SM but must look a lot like mom. It’s definitley worth trying. Good luck.

You might not get viable seeds out of the pods...but on the other hand you might. There are always exceptions and that is part of the fun.

When not viable, I've observed that the seeds inside can be flat with no little bump, white, very tiny or non-existent. Also, the perfectly healthy looking pod can sometimes mysteriously fall off, or the stem can die prematurely, taking the pod with it. I still try to grow any contents I find on supposedly sterile plants, even if I'm pretty sure they are not viable...because you really never know...
