Great room design help please...

Our great room remodel is almost done. Please ignore the area rug... I know I need a larger one to anchor the space and plan on replacing the outdated fan also. That said, I fell in love with and purchased the 103" sofa shown. However, now I'm not sure which other furniture pieces would be best to complete the look? My room measurements approximately 198"W x 198"L. Thanks for the decorating tips.

Rug is large enough

Select chairs with arms for comfort

The room needs table lamps Do not use the overhead light from the fan

If you don't need the fan I would change it to a chandelier

Nice room! I actually think the rug is the right size; I like it in the space. I would pull the sofa towards the fireplace and away from the window, add a coffee table (a large square one maybe?), one or two side tables with some fabulous lamps, and one or a couple of armchairs to flank the sofa. Voilà!

It looks like you have a great rug. You really just need to complete the space. Try getting some great pieces like some chairs, a coffee table, perhaps a chandelier instead of fan, window treatments, plants, and various other decor.

It depends upon you taste and your budget. You might consider a diamond pattern to go with your rug.

I think your rug is perfect. Agree about pulling the sofa away from the window or repositioning.
