Hello, I am starting to finish my basement, and the first room is a general area, where on one wall, I have my HVAC / Water Tank/Water heater etc, another wall has my electrical panel and will be using the rest of the space as a workshop/project area. its about 12 * 20 - So not huge. Currently my mechanical sits on wood, and I found out that's not up to code in my town. My HVAC at min has to be on concrete or some type of fire barrier. Since I have to move this equipment and remove the wood, I am figuring I will just put down a clean floor on the concrete and be done with it. My current floor is concrete, in good shape, might need to be leveled. Its a generally dry space, very little moisture. I keep dehumidifier on a t'stat all the time. I have a drain in the corner to collect any water that might every leak in this room.

I want to put down a clean finished floor in here. Initially I thought just tile it, however my exterior door opens in to this room, and in the winter with salt, etc coming in, I want to make sure that its not slippery. I have some rubber tiles in another area, but I don't like the soft feel to the rubber for this space.

What have you used in this situation. Are there non slip tile suitable for this application? What about the products like racetrack. Has anyone any experiences with them? Can I put my mechanical stuff on a product such as Racetrack?
