Need furniture layout suggestions

We are in process of redoing our house. Just finished floors and painting. Now need furniture. I’m thinking of purchasing the lounge ii petite sectional in taft cement but I’m not sure what size or layout. Anyone have any suggestions. The current sectional in picture is Arhaus dune. It’s about 130x100. Should I keep same size, arrange differently, etc. The room is 16x20. Would love any ideas. Don’t want to spend a fortune on couch and have layout be all wrong. Definitely need tables too just haven’t found any yet.

Hi, you have a pretty spacious space, you should not go for a sectional as it will restrict placing more seating. Get a long long sofa on where you have the sectional and place two single seater sofa chairs opposite the fire place with a table in the center. You should pick a lighter color sofa as your floors are dark. You can put a long console behind the sofa and add some lamps and family pictures. Your TV cabinet is too small for the size of the room. Get something bigger or a longer console and some nice curtains.

Try a reversible chaise sofa for the sectional look that doesn't eat space and that can be changed for more options when re-arranging. That will allow for a pair of chairs and some tables and lamps, all arranged around a focal rug.

I'm not a fan of the red chair in the corner. I don't know how to use photoshop but I feel like the TV should be moved to the wall that currently has the art. With a long console underneath. On the other side of the room I would the couch (facing the tv) and then two chairs to the right side (opening).

None of the current furniture is staying. Just trying to get idea of how to arrange new furniture whether it be sectional or couch or sectional with chair etc. I hate the furniture which is why we definitely need new.

Its hard to see your entire room because I cannot see whether it goes into a kitchen on one end and a hallway on another, but the console is definitely too short for your TV. I think everything needs to face the other wall. I lean more towards a couch and chair combination, but I I would love to see that other side of the room that is not shown here.

We used to have tv on large wall but few years back Arhaus lady suggested moving. We weren’t crazy on the back of couch being right there by kitchen. Although I may move around and try again.

If you don't want the back of the couch to the kitchen, the other option is place one couch facing the fireplace and then 2 chairs with the backs to the kitchen, and add a longer console for the TV. Decent rug, coffee table and other toss pillows for decor.

Ok. I believe I stand by the same layouts I mentioned before. I wouldn't mind having the back of a couch to the kitchen as long as it is NOT a sectional.

I was trying to locate a picture similar to your room. I would have both of the chairs nearest the large opening if you did this layout. This pic is from another user's dilemma. They have an opening behind their couch as well.

Use discrete pieces. No-one can sit in the angle of a sectional. They’re too much bulk for not enough seating.

If you're going to purchase a sectional, try a reversible chaise. It will be a lot easier to work with. As for layout options, it looks like moving your TV to the opposite wall could work better for you. If you got a sofa with two chairs, you would have even more options as well.
