Help picking a rug

The bedroom in my apartment is very awkwardly shaped. the dimensions are roughly 12'x9'4", but the back wall has a 29"x21" abutment, dividing it into 3'11", 2'4" abutment, 5'9". The opposite wall is also awkwardly divided by the door into 5'4", door, 3'11". Finally, there are two closets that take up an entire other wall. (See pics) In any event, I'm trying to pick an area rug for the room. There is only one place the bed can go, and I have a desk and chair that I think go very well with the room. I do not know if I should put a large 5x8 or 6x9 rug running from 6 inches under the front legs of the desk and up against the closet wall (the 9' rug would reach about halfway under the bed and about 18" in front of it), or something smaller that could divide the room in half, like a 6x6 rug starting at the same place (this would stop right at the doorframe.
