You will need a special drain for your stone vessel sink. There are two main types of vessel sink drains - pop-up and grid (sometimes referred to as strainer). Pop-up drains allow you to press down on the top of the drain and stop the water from draining. This is useful for vessel sinks in master or other heavily used bathrooms. Grid drains are most appropriate for powder rooms. Some prefer the look of pop-up drains and use them in powder rooms as well.

Most stone vessel sinks have a drain opening of 1 3/4". The majority of vessel sink drains are designed for this dimension. The diameter of the pipe on the drain will be less than 1 3/4" (Usually 1 1/2" or 1 5/8"). Before buying a drain, make sure it is designed for a 1 3/4" opening.

Most stone vessel sinks, including all of TashMart's sinks do not have a water overflow feature. Water overflows are very common in porcelain sinks. When buying a drain for a stone vessel sink, make sure the drain does not accommodate overflow.
