Do you need privacy or shade? could you do a pergola or awning outside that would achieve your goal? What about sunscreens that let light in, but doesn't allow people to see in?

We just moved in last year and we don’t know what we are doing in the backyard yet (pool, patio or deck). This is more for privacy purposes...neighbors always looking over the fence lol. They’re friendly but we need privacy!

Yeah, that molding is such a bad idea on a slider door. Smiley is right about the VertiGlide. I am partial to Springs products and would look at their Slide Vue. Or, if you need filtered privacy and not run-around-the-house naked privacy, I would consider one or both of the following. 1) decorative privacy film

**and/or*** 2) remote controled exterior solar shade in white with a low openess factor of 1 or 3%. Solar shades are NOT designed as privacy shades but may obscure a full view.

Could you affix a Roman shade, perhaps fabric or jute, directly to the door?

Middle, a roman/natural shade probably wouldn't work because they create too much stack and would impede the full available height to enter and exit the door. And there really is no blind or shade that can be attached to the (glass) door, it would be the header.

I completely forgot about sliding panels. You may need a projection bracket to inside mount without any obstructions, ie, door handle, and to accommodate the mounting depth. It's a little awkward, but can be done.

A top of the line, more expensive option would be sliding shutters. They are gorgeous but requires a 2nd mortgage.

I sold blinds but have been away from that industry for a while so don't remember all the exact specs on things.

Springs is easy to install, has great customer service and run 20% off at Home Depot on occasion. Sales on window treatments often happen this time of year so look for that at any retailer, any brand.

Thanks so much for you’re input! This has been such a pain over the past year trying to figure out what to do. The first person suggested vertical shades which seem to be similar to the sliding panels you suggested so I may have to go with that which actually isn’t that bad at all. I could also do the film, never thought have that but I’m wondering if that will look...cheap? Lol I’ll have to check out my options!

Hey There: You must opt for an inside mount installation for sure. How about vertical blinds that slide to the left out of the walk thru. They give you privacy at nite and are easy to operate. Better more is that they are available in hundreds of fabrics...
