What are these brown deposits?

Hey from San Diego county! these brown deposits started appearing on a white wall just a few weeks ago. Wall faces east, right above some cannas and some market lights hang under the eave of the house above. They wash off with a strong hose jet but reappear overnight. And they leave a stain if they sit too long. I’m not sure if it’s feces from a flying insect or a cocoon for something...? I’m hoping someone will know

Any help greatly appreciated!

Bats? When it's dark, sneak out and look up to where they might be hanging. It's supposed to be a good thing, but I scurry past where they "hang out"!

I know snails and I don’t see any other evidence of them or slugs, so prob not snail poop. But bats I’ve considered too, actually first, as the market lights attract bugs, so follow the bats. Guano I prefer in the soil so I’ll have to confirm this before I take any measures. Thanks.
