First I want to say that pictures of grass are much better if you can take them on a cloudy overcast day or in the shade. The bright sun make very bright spots and very dark shadows.

Why is the rest of the grass dead? There is a lot of dead grass under the green grass.

Why do you want centipede instead of St Augustine or bermuda?

Look up wire grass and see if that’s what it is. It’s much worse then crab grass and roundup might help get rid of. It creeps underground , the worst I’ve seen
