Outdoors all year. For now,the big rubber is being tied flat espalier style. That buys me another year and prevents winter from blowing it over.

I have a small lot and pretty much all the spots to plant these are taken. None want a shade or even light shade area.

Its not something young gardeners ever think of...but as you get old and stay in the hobby..it catches up to you!

the work gets harder every year right?..you probably know this but I've bought several large pots at Lowe's late in the summer..this one last year for $5..

When I had to lift that Ficus..it took all I had. Much heavier then it looks. I'm think of those wooden pots you can build that you are able to disassemble. That ways over the years,you can trim roots and all that without lifting or moving the plant. Ficus though...roots are really capable of pushing apart those kind of pots.

Four years ago Nichol? This was at Walmart in those drinking cup sized pots. 3".

In the tropics I can see this getting humongous!

that WOULD be convenient to work on the plant without lifting it out..and wood lasts a lot longer in CA..the way plants grow is just amazing..
