Bathroom before and after

Following my kitchen before and after post https://www.houzz.co.uk/discussions/renovation-number-2-dsvw-vd~5474261 I decided to share my bathroom before and after.
I went for black fittings, I worried they’d be a nightmare to keep clean but I’ve had no issues so far. I am in a soft water area so that may help!
As you can see the bathroom couldn’t have got much worse than it was!

@Huw Buckley yes judging from the guy I bought the flat off it didn't get much use!!

@maya thank you, these are my tiles... https://totaltiles.co.uk/matt-white-marble-effect-porcelain-wall-and-floor-tile.html I used both the 60x30 for the walls and 60x60 for the floor

@hazel kindley thank you :) it’s an Aqua Dart one from shower trays UK, it weighed an absolute ton so wasn’t fun trying to get it in place just me and my dad!

Heavy shower tray? Crikey I hadn't thought of that, but I'm looking at a big shower for my house. Good find on the tile supplier, might check them out for my renovation, they look really good and very good prices too!

@Hazel Kindley that was the one I ordered and after they took my money they said it wasn't in stock. I wasn't happy so they upgraded me from the aqua i8 to the aquadart as a gesture of goodwill, so I ended up with this screen...

Apart from that small issue they were great to deal with and didn't have to provide me with the more expensive screen but it was good customer service that they did!

Also I love my walk in... mine is in an alcove so didn't bother with the flipper screen addition but if its not in an alcove I would maybe recommend it to avoid a soaking wet bathroom! I love the drying area at the end of mine so I don't have to wet my bathroom floor.

@Huw buckley it wasn't the shower tray that was heavy, it was the screen! It was a 10mm thick 1000mm x 2000mm piece of glass! Very scary moving it into place trying to keep it as straight as possible.

Total Tiles were very good, I would recommend looking elsewhere for grout, adhesive and spacers as they did work out more expensive than somewhere like Selco.

@maya no problem, I got the tap off eBay! I was a bit hesitant about the quality but it’s fab and my dad was pleased with how it was put together and fitted.

@Sam Potter they do look very similar! Shame they weren’t on offer when I was trawling the internet, I think mine were around £13p/sqm so at least I didn’t pay too much more :)

@danielle h Looks great, after much deliberation we're thinking of going down a similar route. Is the window sill and shelf above the toilet painted black wood or something else? Did you use a standard white grout?

@martin thank you! Yes the two sills are just painted MDF. They were originally white but I felt the room needed more definition, I had some leftover black wood paint so I painted them and didn’t regret it! And yes I wanted the tiles to look as seamless as possible so just went for white grout.

Hi Martin, no, I really don’t like edging so I just put filler on the one exposed edge I had and painted it in with the wall colour. Not perfect but I prefer it to a trim :)
