We have an open floor layout plan and a narrow front hallway. I am trying to figure out the best way to protect the wood floor as I see many scuff marks and scratches developing. I was thinking of putting down a long runner from the front door...does this sound right?If so what size would you recommend?Is there a particular material I should look for in a rug (would like it to be pretty yet practical) Alternatively is there some other idea you would recommend?
