Is there room to rotate the bed so that it is facing the dresser?

I thought the bed is on the wrong wall too. Would it work on the wall where the dresser is or on the wall across from the dresser.

Your room is very monochromatic and the drapery is very heavy and dark looking. Those are the things you want to change?

So what crafts are you think of doing in this room? When I think of crafts, I think of something that goes on over a period of days. It would be better to have a separate room for if, but if it is something you can work on an put away, then I can see it might work. But I imagine that if you have young ones, it would be better to have a room with space to play, read, and a craft section, not a bedroom.

aug, my sympathies, cause our bedroom also ends up with lotsa house stuff in it.

You didn't say if there is indeed another room for projects. It can help, but I have found at times just working on LR floor works, or if messy maybe in the yard....

do your projects always need same conditions? a sewing machine, etc...?

Move the bed to the wall across the dresser. Drapes are too dark and not long enough. The room has a great shape and start with neutral color. Needs artwork and lamps to add the cozy. As far as the bathroom, it comes across dark with the dark tile, but how about adding a larger bathroom rug in a light ivory color? Wall color in bathroom could be improved too. Corner is a great reading/sitting area with a comfortable chair and lamp. Not sure of the size, but could you put a small desk/vanity table there that could be multipurpose?

I would move bed to dresser wall, dresser across from it or between entrance and bathroom doors, as long as there is some wall space on either side of dresser. The tall chest looks lost on this wall.

Tall chest on current bed wall - but ideal would be dresser and lamp on either side of bed and remove tall chest.

Do you ever or would you open curtains? If no, floor mirror in that area so you can see quicker when in or leaving closet. Floor length curtains.

I would not put a craft area in bedroom unless it is absolutely necessary.

Windows are right against corner. Here is a more specific measurement.

Before you spend any money, find a place for all that "stuff". No matter how much money or what changes you make to this room, if there is no place for it, your room will again be a mess. DO NOT add "craft clutter" to a room that already has clutter issues!

Find a home for the clutter. Make yourself keep the room clutter-free until January. If you have been able to do this, start with bedding and go from there. The clutter is your biggest issues. It doesn't have to be that way.

I would try moving the bed to the 16’ wall, flanked by the nightstand. If you don’t have two you could use a skirted round table on one side. The chair might work in the corner closest to the bathroom (depending on the actual size of the chair. The dresser and mirror can stay on the long wall. See if the floor mirror works in the corner by the closet. I would get your floor plan settled before anything else.

Yes. Clutter finds this room easily because my kids aren't in here much. But I am finally tired of that!! Working on re-homing the piles this week (trash, donate, finish project). I think the craft table may be better elsewhere in the house too.

Measurement from window to corner of that same wall is 15'. Not for sure which yoyou are asking about for sure.

I'm wondering if the bed would work on the 22' wall, just past the window. You would have room for an end table and lamp on each side. Then one dresser between the doors and another opposite the bed. The back corner where the chair is makes a great little spot to read a book or escape the noise of the household.

As some have suggested, I would put the bed on the 16" wall with a nightstand on each side. The picture below is scaled with 3-ft nightstand and usual queen-sized bed (64 in x 84 in). You should have room for a bench at the foot of the bed.

You can try this layout and see if you like it. You can also flip this and put the bed where the dresser is now ( I think what katinparadise is suggesting) - what I don't like about this is the head part of your bed will be in line with the bathroom door. You have to decide on the layout before anything else. You can replace the chair in the corner with a desk and chair if you want to do crafting there.

After deciding on the layout, pick a color scheme. I would also seriously consider the color scheme that Patricia Coldwell Consulting suggested - that room looks so fresh and calm.

Agree that your space plan is the first concern, and the one illustrated above by RTHawk I think works best. If the bed were to placed on 22' wall, it would inhibit movement from bathroom to closet. The chair in the nook is probably the best choice...even if it is used only for putting on shoes. Can the tall chest of drawers be moved into the closet or to another room? I would not, under any circumstances, add a craft area to the master bedroom. After the furniture plan is settled, bedding, artwork, and window coverings (floor length) can be addressed.

Do you prefer a dressed up bed, with extra stuff of pillows, maybe bench at foot? or wallpaper for that part?

OR, might the windowed room hold interest: with interesting window treatment, or stenciled treatment, or a chair you love... ?

Ikea and others sell ceiling tracks - versatile - cause fabric could be behind bed from corner to long wall [and left of its window]. so bed would face the door with lux look, or more a gauzy fabric.

Much better, but I think the chest looks squished next to the window. I would move it back to where you had it before (between the bathroom and entry.)

Another option: Maybe you can put the chest in the closet. I like that option the best and would probably be more functional by having all of your clothes at that end of the room. I guess it depends on how important that is to you.

How does it feel to you? One little thing-try turning your comforter 90 degrees. It may do a better job of covering the sheets and hanging further down your bed skirt.

I like this arrangement better. And yes, how does it feel for you? Does this new arrangement function better for you? I do agree with 2pups4me that the tall dresser looks squished in that corner.

What do you want to tackle next? Nightstands and lamps? Are you sticking with your bedding or are you planning to buy new bedding? How about curtains? (I think they should go all the way to the floor). And art for the walls. And new paint color? If you are doing all these, probably best to have an overall plan so everything is coordinated.

First question you need to answer: how do I want this room to feel? Example: warm and cozy, light and airy, ...?

I prefer your initial photo's set-up - could add a tall striking lamp on the nightstand, and canvas art over bed. Dresser was ok where it was. Chair was ok and small round table - could have chair in other corner or just moved to left.

If you find you don't enjoy sitting back there - have your craft area my goodness!!

Tall dresser thats in the corner by the closet centered on the wall by the door to the hall? and put the tall mirror on the wall between the window and the closet (where the tall dresser is now). Maybe a nice tall plant in the corner where the mirror currently is?

I really like the new setup!! I may move the dresser back to original wall, but it is nice having it close to the closet.

Turned comforter after photo was taken. I am hoping to do a gallery wall where tall dresser initially was (wall between entry to bathroom and entry to room). But if I move dresser back there then I lack space for gallery wall. Next plan is shopping for bedding in Navy/Brown and long curtains to match bedding.

As for bench, I would like to have one, but husband prefers more of an open floor plan, and my really young kids would use it to catapult themselves either onto or off of my bed.
