Before and After - Kitchen Refresh DIY 1955 Ranch

This update was done in 2012, but I wanted to share a simple "refresh" style update that served me well for years. This was my first home so I had a tight budget to update the kitchen in my 1955 Ranch. I had the flooring replaced in the whole house and went with a light vinyl plank. I got all new appliances, but kept the range hood. For the cabinets, I stripped and painted them, and replaced all the hinges and hardware. The backsplash was a remnant of vinyl flooring that I used construction adhesive to attach. It was an experiment, so I knew if it failed I'd have to figure something else out, but it held up great. I lived in the home for 3 years and the kitchen was great the whole time. I love looking back on my cute little kitchen!
