I no longer use a bed skirt on our beds. Our bedspreads are wide enough to come down on the sides to the top of the wood frame on each side. The mattress is totally covered and the box spring sits in the frame and doesn't show. It looks so much cleaner and stylish without a bed skirt.

I agree with not using a bedskirt. When the side rails of a bed are pretty, I think they're meant to be seen. (And it IS so much cleaner of a look to go without one.)

I hear you all saying what you like, and I like that too, but my mattress is soooo thick and bedding isn't covering it well. .

I can't use a sheet because I can't get the sheet between the very large and heavy mattress and box, very easy. and it would be a night mare to wash due to the weight of mattress making it hard to manipulate.

The reason for looking at a new bed is because of the fact that the box would fit down into the rails, though 3 " would still show. Then there is still the issue If my bedding would come down to the rails.. I'm not sure if it would with my 13" mattress.

My big question in this thread is if I should get such a large bed for my small room of 12x12. Any thoughts on that.

Well, if you got that particular bed, you'd put the fitted sheet on the box spring at the time the bed was being set up. I haven't removed mine to wash in over three years and don't plan on doing so. Only the sides show, and it doesn't get soiled.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned and I missed it, but they do make box spring covers.

Haha I didn’t know they made box covers. Ida, I guess if you haven’t cleaned it in 3 years that might do for me. I like the navy box cover that @crl linked. I’m not sure how it would look. I think it would go fine color wise with the blues.

I’ve seen them other places too. Pretty sure Pottery Barn kids had some twin sizes a couple of years ago. There may well be better selection or prices elsewhere, I just grabbed that picture and link to illustrate.
