Faucet height for sink size?

I will be putting in a 36” Rachiele workstation sink in my kitchen remodel. My galley kitchen is on the small side. My upper cabinets are 17” above the countertop AND the sink. It does not bother me that there are cabinets in front of my face while at the sink, and I can’t afford to lose cabinet space over the sink. The most I would want to raise the cabinets over the sink would be 3 inches, which would give a 20” clearance.

I found a nice faucet that is 14” high. I think the dimensions of the faucet are functionally good, but would a faucet only 14” high look really stupid with a 36” sink? (It will have a grid and cutting board on it most of the time).

(LOL hard to tell with THESE photos!)

Thanks for your input!

I love the Brizo Litze kitchen faucet! It's very nice (normal) size, I've seen it in a showroom.

I have a 16" high faucet that looks very similar to the faucet you posted, and my sink is 30" wide. It works fine, looks fine, and I never have given it a second thought. Your primary concern should be function, and the faucet you like will give you good clearance for setting large/tall objects in the sink. It also has a clean, elegant design. I say go for it.

The faucet in this picture, which is the same as yours except for finish, is 54.5 cm above the countertop. The height is required to store the tube that pulls out. Looks great IMHO.

I am trying to figure out why such a large sink in a tiny kitchen and raise those cabinets 17” is too low

With a Signature sink, the prep work is done in the sink not on the counter. Larger is better because the counter stays clean. Ideally, the sink needs to be large enough for the cutting board, the bowl holder, and a bit of extra space for rinsing and hand washing. When slicing and chopping, the cutting board is covers about 50% of the bowl so the chopped items are easily moved to the bowl. When washing produce, etc. the bowl is not covered by the chopping block.

Jerry said it well. I will do the prep in the sink and not on the counter. Plus I have a 67” x 36” counter across from the sink hat you can’t really see in my photo. That’s where I do the baking prep.

Love doing prep that way. Cleaning up as you go is even easier when you are working on top of a sink.

annieoakley47, Just the same, except the baking prep for me is done on the 30x72 mobile table rather than a counter.

I don't think faucet height needs to be related to sink size. Just be sure it's functional.

(I would, however, find 17" bad everywhere, especially over the sink. An inch makes a difference! You know what you're doing though since you live that way already. Measure what you already have and are okay with twice. But you know this.)
