I was flooded and whole basement is affected.insurancebwill take apart laminate floor and some walls.i want to replace it with what I dream to be my final project ,take advantage of this big renovation.ibwould like to have a designer based in Montreal to advice.well any advice in term of color combination will be great.many thanks

If your area is prone to flooding, I would seriously consider large format porcelain tile so you can put in a waterproofing membrane underneath. It's a great material for a basement space, and they even make versions that look like wood. Try Arizona Tile, Porcelanosa, or Crossville.

You've already posted a picture you like; is that what you're going for? Personally, I think it's a bit stark. The issue really isn't the colors, it's the lighting. You need more recessed lighting in the ceiling (make them dimmable). If it were me, I'd go with darker floors and lighter walls.

No gray in a basement. Add more lighting.

agree that very light paint is key. then you could do flooring as light as your example or a bit darker (which will give you more choices). do walls and ceiling all one color. soften and warm with rugs and upholstery choices.

I would avoid gray. Keep the white washed look of the floors in your inspiration photo, even a smidge darker to ground things and then lighten walls and ultra white ceilings.

None of those. Something that looks like real wood. Not moldy aged culls thrown on the scrap heap. And NO LAMINATE below grade. Vinyl or porcelain tile ONLY.
