Hi all,

We have a king bed that stands on legs supported by 3 horizontal wooden slats (pic attached). We bought a steel slatted foundation box (7.5 inches) and on that, we will place a hybrid memory foam mattress of 12 inches. We feel as though there isn’t enough support on the wooden slats of the original bed and they seem to be taking the entire weight. Also, there is some gap between the side of foundation box and bed frame (see pic) that may allow the steel foundation to move around. My husband and I are over 200 lb. Is there enough support or do we need to put more wooden slats on the bed (below the steel foundation)? How do we close the gaps on the side?
