I need to replace my Quartz ounter too- on my 2 tier island- due to a crack. I really love my counter tops but theyare no longet available. So - the current color is Ebony peatl - basically Black with some grey flecks in it. I am ging to repalce the island with a coordinating Granite - white with grey, black flecks. Is it odd if I just relace the lower tier in the Granite and leave the upper tier the original Quartz.

I figured if the kitchen counters are the original Quartz and the lower leverl of the island is the new Granite- leaving the upper tier of the isalnd the original will tie it all together, or do you suggest doing the entire island in the new Granite?

Replacing at ONE (counter height ) level might be better too. ...........What does the entire island look like all sides within the kitchen. Sort of dated as is.

You’re talking about a high-low island, right? I would not like the look of two different granites...the only exception I can think of is if it’s two completely different materials. Then it might work.

yes that is correct regarding the high-low. They would be an existing Quartz and a new Granite for the lower tier.

Have you shopped for the slab. You'll likely end up with excess. Enough to do the upper in the new granite from what you're already paying for.

Replace the entire island top. First find out why you have a crack. Sounds like you have a support issue somewhere.
