A floor plan of the whole living space would be helpful that space is just plain awkward to use as a DR IMO. When you post the floor plan also post some pictures of the spaces and make sure to include measurements

My dining room is pretty much the same size. I have a 60" x 40" table that works just fine. Like you, my overhead light outlet wasn't centered so I just found a fixture that I could swag to centre over the table.

Thanks for the floor paln IMO a 36: round table witl seat 4 nicely give you a decent space around the table and anymore than that do buffet style. This is a small space and IMO no need to feel you have to have more seating than that and make it feel cramped . The table mentioned gives only 30” aroiund the table and that is very tight I think visually and just funtionally a small round is a better choice since that area is also the walk space to and from the kitchen

Sure. Here you go. BTW, my DR is 7'10"' by 9'4". My current chairs are 25" wide....so, big. I'm going to be swapping out the sides with 4 smaller armless ones.

And, because I embrace compact, super efficient spaces (& old houses!), I'm doing a pair of 8" deep x 24" wide bookcase like the last photo on either end so that the head chair can roll back easily. Bookcases painted out....of course.

since the space is also the walk thru area I’d do a narrow rectangle table.
