White Paint suggestions

we are remodeling our kitchen/ family room area. There will be a lot of morning light as there are windows on that entire east facing wall. My floors are all grey tile as well as fireplace. Kitchen will be white with white subway tiles. Was wondering what white paint color would be good for cabinets and for the walls? I was looking at Alabaster from Sherwin Willliams for walls. Would I paint cabinets the same? Cabinets the same?I want to bring warmth into this room and not have the white be too cold, but not yellow either.

I have had SW Pure White for 25 years on trim and crown throughout the house and also recently used it on my new kitchen cabinets. I think it is a perfect white and would look good with your floors. I have the same situation with morning sun in the kitchen and family room and find it to be subtle and clean - definitely not cold or blinding.

BM Chantilly Lace might be good to sample.

I like SW Snowbound in my house, but it can go faintest of pink (which I actually like) relative to what it's being compared to.

Thank you all. I will get a few more samples. Forgot to mention that the baseboards and trim in the rest of my house are swiss coffee from frazee which i believe is now like an Alabaster in SW.

We have BM Super White in our kitchen/LR/DR/foyer/bedroom hallway. We shied away from it initially because we were afraid it would be too stark, too bright, too sterile looking, but after painting test swatches of other BM whites, and finding some to look too yellow, others too pink, etc., we settled on Super White. It doesn’t appear to have any undertones and just reads; white.

We used SW Pure White and could not be happier. What color will your walls and moldings be? Pretty floors.

the end of room with fireplace would take a contrasting treatment on the wall areas left and right. The "newer" botanical wallpapers would be great with some blues/greens/a bit of black in these...dramatic! but for that small space...perfect! Unless you have built ins or something else planned. That end of room is bold.. I see an off white with a bluer or cool green or mauve tint for the long wall...just slightly . Handle the cabinets and kitchen walls separately.

We use Alabaster white frequently (because I like warm whites) but I think it is too warm for your space. I would recommend SW Snowbound (we have not experienced any pink undertones with it). Attached is a space done with Snowbound cabinetry and trim. Walls are Elder White.

I also used SW Snowbound in my house, but I'm on an extremely wooded lot, so all light coming into my home is filtered through green leaves.

Really, every house is different, so you need to try samples. Lots and lots of samples.

I agree with Hillside above. You have to choose the right white for your house.

We changed our cabinet color from Swiss Coffee to White Dove at the last minute when I realized that it was just a bit too creamy for my house. My last house was SW Creamy and my cabinets were a different white.

My point is.....in this new house we did all of the trim and woodwork in the same white color as the cabinetry. All BM White Dove. Exact same crown profile in kitchen and other rooms. Really simplified things.

Ditto about every house being different and sampling many colors.

My ceiling in my open concept space is Snowbound. I love the color and have no pink effect.

My daughter used SW Alabaster on many walls. Here it is with SW Extra White doors and trim. 2nd and 3rd pics has Alabaster in the foreground and SW Passive on the far wall, and SW Gray Matters on the window wall. It morphs with light and we’re happy with the results.
