Definitely white, but...

We have had our Minka Aire Concept ii ceiling fans in our smallish bedrooms for 3.5 years. love them. Strongly recommend them. They are visually out of the way, quiet, and seriously move the air. We have lights in the secondary rooms, but just the cover in our master.

The fans are a must but not with overhead lights. Just a plain fan will help the room not look so commercial. Like this but white.

leelee, I understand that some folks are against lights with ceiling fans. But help me understand why. From a practical point of view, how do you light a small bedroom? We currently have bedside lamps and a floor lamp on switched outlets. It doesn't work well. Don't people want to walk into a room and switch on a light? Don't they want to know that when they flip the switch there will be a light? And then use accents lights for accents and tasks?

Maybe I should have included more information. This is a mountain resort / ski condo that is a vacation rental as well as used by us. I want it to be functional.

Yes. People expect to flip a switch and turn a light on in an unfamiliar place. I think youre spot on choosing a fan with a light as long as it’s visually as minimal as possible.

Just an aside, I have never had a bedroom with a ceiling light ( 68 years old). I flick the switch and lamps come on. The bedside lamps are not connected to the switch. When ready to go to sleep you just turn off the lamp by the bed, therefore no need to get out and flick off the switch. I have never liked the harshness of overhead lighting.

Yes, I turn on the wall switch near the door and the lamps on the dressers come on. When I leave the room, I switch off the light at the door. Most people do not look their best with overhead lighting. Especially in the bedroom. I installed ceiling fans in my bedrooms. yes to fans, no to overhead lights in bedrooms.

I love my bedroom ceiling fan. It's a quiet Hunter white fan with a 3 piece soft marble glass light kit. It bought some pretty nickel and clear pull chains for it. I do have soft side table lamps but sometimes that isn't enough light. I like to see when I vacuum and have the big light on when I clean. While it's great to have your house beautiful, it's also important to have it functional. You can have both. It's SO nice to have the fan on low when you sleep. It's the the best! :)

Never never never have we had overhead lighting in a bedroom. And never will. It's horrible lighting- the room looks cold and everyone in the room looks worse. Just have the accent lighting work by a switch at the door as others have said.

I vote for Aloft White. I think you would want the fan to blend into the ceiling and not call attention to itself since the bedrooms are small.

With the light and fan controlled by separate switches at the door the overhead light should work as ambient lighting so guests can see how to enter the room. Hopefully, they have good design sense and will then switch on the bedside, floor and table lamp for task lighting and turn off the ceiling light, leaving the fan running. White, please.

I could tell this is a rental. The overhead lighting is good for vacuuming but not for much else. Not flattering or good for reading in bed.

You can also tell it's a rental by the way the beds are packed into the room, especially in front of the door.

White, and the single light, not the three bell lights. It does not have to be harsh if you choose a softer lower watt bulb. And you can have BOTH a ceiling light AND lamps! I have both, and use the lamps for evening reading and the ceiling light for my morning routine when I need all the light and clarity I can get.
