2018 October Lotto Block

The lotto is beginner friendly and is open to everyone!

October – Four Patch Chain – 12" finished/12.5" unfinished Block – Brown/Beige/Kona Black

Color 1 – Brown

Color 2 – Beige/Tan/Off White

Color 3 – Kona Black (please note placement, so all our chains line up)

Four Patch Chain Instructions

(please note that my photo is washed out - the chains are not white, they are beige/tan)

For those that are new to the lotto or those needing a refresher, please click the following link for the "at a glance" thread, which includes all the rules and information related to the 2018 lotto:

This block comes together really fast, especially if you strip piece!

Mine are ready, just have to take a photo. And since Val is away, no rush to mail.

    Here they are!

Whoops! Is there a new trick to adding photos? I have tried adding a picture at least five times and it doesn't get accepted.

    I will try again.

    aha! It worked

Looks like I won't be a winner in this Lotto either. ;)

No time for stitching these blocks. Did anyone else get to whip up some this month?

PS...The MegaMillions winning ticket was purchased in our little town! When I ran errands, it's all anyone is talking about. Fun to daydream about a long-arm quilting machine and all the fabric I'd buy!

Hi Larri...I was wondering if you were the mega millions winner? hoping Your small town benefits!

That’s pretty exciting, Larri. Will you ever know the winner’s name, or can they remain anonymous?

Well, I think most everyone around here knows, though we are respecting his/her privacy until he/she breaks silence. It's a very young person, barely able to even legally purchase a lottery ticket. Social media w/the younger generation has probably already outed the person. A friend in the know says the person was checking lotto ticket while grabbing coffee in the break room at a local manufacturing plant, realized he/she won, and abruptly left work. It's a media frenzy around here with good, fun news for a change. We joked last night that at least now people will be able to spell our town without asking twice. :)

Hey, Valarie! I'm truly thrilled for the winner, and not the least bit envious. I'd find that kind of wealth a burden...well, at least after I bought yards and yards of fabric. :)

Happy Halloween ya'll...Just wondering if I should expect any additional blocks for October's drawing? I have Jennifer's, Carol R and Nannykins...any others due??

    Please let me know....

I'll pull a winner from the magic hat on Nov. 1., thank you!

Sorry I'm late with announcing the October winner, it's been a rough couple of days since the 1st.

Without further ado...Jennifer's name was pulled from the lucky hat. These are very cool blocks and I'm sure Jen will do something awesome with them!

    Congratulations Jennifer!

Woo-hoo Jen! Not enough for a quilt but maybe a table runner or wall hanging!

    Congratulations, Jen!

Thanks, everyone!!! Awhile ago, I saw a plaid flannel at my LQS that would be perfect for the backing. So right now my plan is to add more blocks and make a quilt for my brother. I can't wait to get started on it.

    That sounds perfect Jennifer!
