Gray from Sherwin Willaims

Hi - We painted our living and dining room "Network Gray" from Sherwin Williams and did not realize it would look BLUE!

We want/need to paint over it with another Sherwin Williams color that will make the room actually gray and not blue-ish.

Any recommendations would be wonderful. We want just a warm gray, not too light and not too dark! Thank you so much!!

Repose gray or agreable gray by Sw are good. Watch undertones on agreeable gray.

I second the repose gray. I used it in much of my home. No blue undertones!

Gray can go different directions depending on your natural and artificial light. What direction does this particular room face? Any particular reason you want a gray? So many other great choices.

Thanks everyone. We want gray bc we like it and are planning on getting a gray couch. The rooms have light from the front of the house and dining room windows on the left when coming in the front door

Mindful Gray. It’s soft and neutral gray that makes walls almost disappear. I painted a couple of small rooms with it, never looked back.

Vicky, the paint will look different from house to house depending on the lighting, windows etc. Seeing it in Melissa's house doesn't mean it will look like that in yours. Your best bet would be to buy a few of the small sample jugs from SW and try them on the walls in your house.

Make sure you have good lighting, and bring home samples and paint them on white posterboard (not the wall) and move them around the room all different times of day, to see which one will work for you. My living room is gray (now has one accent wall). I ended up painting it 3 different times, to get a paint that doesnt look green. The first paint was Benjamin Moore, I had already used in a bathroom, and its perfect gray in there, so I decided to use the same paint in the living room. It turned out green. I really dislike green, so it had to go. I had samples of the second gray and I thought it would be the right one. It also looked green, but, a lot less than the first one. I finally found one by Valspar, called City Scape, that looks gray in my living room. It is very hard to find the right one. I wouldnt have minded if it had a bluish look to it, but, green to me is intolerable.

I would wait until you buy the sofa. They can look a different color in your home. One woman bought a gray sofa and was surprised it looked so green in her home.

I have Amazing Gray all over my house and I love it. However, when I first saw the paint on the walls during construction I almost passed out....it looked rose colored to me. Once the natural light came thru and I had furniture and rugs and other items in the house, it ended up being exactly what I wanted.

Google themagicbrushinc. She just painted most of the rooms on first floor SW light french gray and the color is beautiful in her home.

C Lund : we’ve picked Amazing Grey as the color we’re going to use for our first floor. I have a bunch of walls with samples on it and I’m hoping I like it as much as I like the sample paint spots!
