Question - what color are your kitchen cabinets?

Have you made poster board samples of Edgecomb Gray in order to try it out around the rooms in your home (during different times of day/night)?

Second question - are you leaving your accent wall?

I would not do the fabric you are showing with Edgecomb Gray. If you want gray, go with a darker charcoal. Other choices: dark blue, green (like the dining chairs,) or a leather.

Personally, I would go with leather.

Iron Ore will not work with Edgecomb Gray. It can have a green undertone, but only with certain lighting and I'm not seeing green on my monitor. Maybe this green? It will look great with the black fireplace surround.

Yes I am leaving the accent wall I find the fireplace hard to match well so it sets it off .. and opens up
The room my area is very dark despite large windows due to large trees in the back

Also I’m trying to go neutral I am replacing the dining chairs/table

IMO neutral is okay but what you are planning is boring since no color is actually planned. I never think beige and gray work well together . Change for the sake of change is not good without some plan. I am not sure why gray for the walls and you already had what some will say was a neutral palette . The rugs are where you could add a touch of coor and what other art work do you have . Accent walls are not my fave but done with thought can work but added after all other items are in place and then see if needed. I think a sofa and 2 chairs might have been a better choice . Even the flowers on the counter are adding some life to the space .

Of the two, suggest Pale Oak with your fabric and also consider how the choice works with the fireplace and even the kitchen cupboards.

You mentioned the room tends to feel dark. Once rest of room is painted, consider updating Urban Bronze as it‘s not doing anything for the stone or the room and actually takes over.

If you are set on painting that wall a different color, suggest a softer/lighter shade that is more complementary with your color scheme. You could add impactful art on both sides…try to imagine art on sides per the feel in picture below.

I’m in Jan’s corner on this one. No more gray; you already have too much. Especially since you have that stunning fireplace stacked-stone wall which photographs beige running towards pink.

Love this! I can’t find any of the carpets big enough I currently have 11 x 11 in this space .. and also I’m in Canada I am close to the border tho so would definitely go over to get something

I used some BM Edgecomb Gray in my previous house and it was a sad/drab color in my space! I'm not a fan of most gray-ish colors.

The rest of the house was BM Grant Beige and I ended up repainting most of the Edgecomb with the Grant Beige.

You have RUG 2 11x 11? Or the space is 11 x 11?

Just because you HAVE 11 x 11 does not mean it is perfect...........sorry, but we surely do not know and with more info, you may be surprised.

You can even.......believe it or not, go to a good BROADLOOM store, and find many in this palette that van be cut.bound and created to the inch . What size is perfect? Post a drawing as.......asked.

Feet and inches are everything in planning ANY thing.

We have edgecomb gray in every room in our house and really love it! It walks the line between gray and beige and is light without being white. Here it is in two different rooms.

Here it is! The back of the couch is wall thru - the other side of the couch is kitchen I put in the measurements I think 12x12 would work perfect .. two couches by preference and because we have the room

A 10x14 rug would work just fine, and give you more rug choices.

I have 2 sofas and 2 chairs with a 10x14 rug, with just all front legs on the rug. In my previous house I had the same rug and most of the same furniture, and in that smaller room all the legs were on the rug, with a narrower coffee table.

I don’t think a 10 x 14 would work because I am going to put a coffee table - an end table between the 2 sofas so it would be sitting on half carpet

You've done a great job getting this far. :) Middle top looks pretty but it's also very light; if the room is going to see regular use, coffee, snacks, pets, kids traffic - living - keeping it this lovely bright off white could be challenging.

Thank you Maureen I’m going with stone hearth for an accent wall around fireplace and Edgecomb gray for the rest of the home with the exception of laundry room I think! Great ideas from this group started with the fireplace as was suggested.. and decided on one sofa and two chairs! Excuse the mess bit there is my sofa swatch on the left and going w tan leather for the accent chairs

Did you test the Edgecomb Gray in your space, on the walls, big swatches to make sure it's a good color in your house? Because I'll tell you -- it's a wacky, wacky color. I sampled it and it was fleshy orange. Yes, you read that right -- fleshy orange. The Samplize samples didn't look that way, but big swatches on the wall? Oh my... Don't know what was causing it to shift the way it did, probably the exposure but who knows. You have been warned.

Thank you to everyone with the help! Jan! I went with one couch and two chairs, tan leather chairs to bring out the muted colors in the fireplace! Hearthstone for the accent wall, Edgecomb gray for everywhere else. I’ll save the carpet for last added this mirror to my dining area to bridge between kitchen and dining room..
