After months of questioning what to do with my fireplace, I finally decided to use the german smear technique made popular by Chip & Joanna Gaines. The process took about 5 hours and I am in LOVE with the end result. Until I woke up this morning. Our entire house smells like sulfur & after scouring the internet, I found a thread where people who tiled their bathroom using the same product I used, had the same smell. I used Versabond thinset mortar mix from Home Depot. I haven't found anyone with the same experience as me and I am hoping since the mortar is exposed that the smell will go away quicker than it would if it was under tiles like the people's experience in the thread. If anyone has experienced this, what did you use to help the smell? How long did the smell last? It is miserable to sit in this room that I love so much! Thanks in advance for ANY help or suggestions!
