I want my stairs to look contemporary without tearing them down. I figure painting would be a quick way to achieve it. I’ve thought black for the banister and white for the rails (but that seems traditional and over done) or a dark brown to match the chandelier or maybe painting both the banister and railings the same color as the walls(beige) as that may make them kinda disappear... idk if that’s cool or not. I tend to be more transitional. I’m also looking into maybe a printed or patterned carpet. Any suggestions
