A lighting designer can help with your individual circumstance, however I can give you a few tips. 2700-3000K looks great with warmer tones and woods. 4000-6000K is more for whites and metals, however I would stick to the 4000K as the others tend to lean blue. The higher the CRI (Color Rendering Index) the better the quality of light and the more attractive everything will look. Go for a CRI of 92 or greater. If it's low, as in a 40, everything will look grey and drab.

The LUX will vary depending on where the lighting is, but a task light as in under the cabinetry would be around a 500.

We tend to use 2700K for the LED, as that's what our clients are used to with the incandescent and standard bulb lighting. If you are using 2700 and it's too yellow, check your CRI and LUX and make sure you are using a quality bulb. I wish you luck in finding the right lighting for you!
