Some nice posies there, m'dear. Good growing on the Begonia prismatocarpa. A kind gent gave me a start of one a couple years ago, but, alas, it did not make it. :-(

Glad to see a broadened interest ;) Yeah, that begonia has a reputation.

If you give this darn prismatocarpa over 70% humidity - it will grow like a champ, You can dry it - but as long as air humidity is high - it will perk up.

Well I must be purely lucky then with the prismatocarpa - all I did was set it on the community watering grid. I've never put my hygrometer right there on top of the tray so I don't know just how humid it is, but the little begonia seems to be enjoying it. It's been there for months now and I'm taking these blooms as a good sign. It's still in the K-cup I put it in when it came to me as a tiny rooted cutting. I'm not sure what container I will use when I re-pot it. Will it spread across a shallow container like begonia Smidgens has for me? I used a recycled yogurt cup that is 1-1/2" deep by 3-1/2" across for Smidgens when it was time for it to graduate from a k-cup and it has happily filled the yogurt container right up. Will prismatocarpa have a similar growth pattern (if I can keep it happy through the winter, that is?)

Seems it is a low growing plant, kind of spreading. As long as you have an ambient humidity around it - you are OK - translates to wick and tray. If it dries up - it can be trouble. What I am suggesting - to put a cutting of it in a closed container - it can be a mason jar with a transparent lid - i can be there forever slowly growing - just in case.

Not a bad idea, Irina. Thank you - that's what I will do then, put a piece of it into covered conditions such as I use to grow the tiny sinnigia pusilla (the clear dome that usually sits over the little cup was removed for the photo.) Just for insurance. ;-)
