Our main traffic side door leads right into our dining room which makes for a nightmare in winter when everyone is leaving their wet boots and jackets all over the place. The only closet is clear across the room so I need to figure out a better use of the space and am open to buying new storage / multi purpose furniture ideas .
Initial thoughts :
1) get dining bench to replace the 2 chairs that back up to the door.
2) replace the bookshelf with something more practical but not sure what that is. The door opens opposite to the bookshelf making it not ideal for a catchall
3) the wall to the left is completely empty but feels clunky to have the end table and then another piece of furniture next to it and not a ton of space to work with.
