Black or navy even a dark green will work

Black or a deep espresso brown would look very nice. Paint the garage door the same colour as body of house so it does not stand out. Then pick a warm, welcoming colour for your front door - the front door is meant to be painted its own unique colour which stands out from body of house.

With the neutral body colour, you have lots of options. Check out ideabooks on front door colours, & refer to Feng Shui tips which provide advice based on which direction your front door is facing.

Could you do shutters on the top windows as well? I love the shutters downstairs, great choice adding them. Navy is a great color, but depends on whether you want to go bold or stay neutral, and how much contrast you want between the house and shutters.

Also a contrasting color for the front door would be so inviting, classic, and timeless!

I like contrast and will add shutters to rest of house. The original shutters were black wanted something diff. Leaning towards dark brown or navy. I just bought the door so am not comfortable painting it. May paint door in a few years. House was a total fixer upper. Thanks for helping.

I would consider painting the front door. Deep red or something to draw your eye in there.
