Yep, Japanese anemone - One of my favorite fall bloomers!

who was Honorine Jobert .. presuming its a person???

The daughter of the originator of this hybrid, M. Jobert of Verdun, France back in 1858.

Apparently not. I could find no reference at all to a persons name associated with this plant, this is the standard info I found.

"The cultivar ‘Honorine Jobert’, an old garden hybrid discovered in Verdun, France in 1858, has been selected as the Perennial Plant Association’s Perennial of the Year 2016. This hybrid, also called A. x hybrida ‘Alba’, was a sport of the pale pink Anemone x hybrida, a cross of A. hupehensisvar. japonica and A. vitifolium which was raised at the Royal Horticultural Society’s garden at Chiswick."

Edited to add: Interesting GG. I clearly never came across that info. Thanks to you as soon as I searched M. Jobert of Verdun, France that info came up.

isnt there a rose with the same.. or very similar name???

my search engine failed to find anything beyond this plant ...... but i didnt try very hard ..
