Michael hit up in the Panhandle of Florida and we are on the West Coast. I was still in Indiana when it came through but the Geezer had to evacuate because of storm surge and went to the daughter's house. The stores in town that her company own shut down for the day so she was home with him and kept him busy by playing cards and introducing him to Netflix/Dexter. There was flooding in town to the point of having to close the highway over night but nothing at our house. Our granddaughter's uncle lives on the beach in Panama City. He stayed and didn't evacuate. You can bet he'll evacuate the next time! All the trees on his property are gone and there's roof damage. He was on the west side of the hurricane and didn't get hit as bad, so was lucky. I heard one of their sheriff's say that they had a right to be an idiot and not evacuate but they didn't have a right to endanger the lives of others to come and rescue them, so that wasn't going to happen.

I'm glad to hear y'all are okay. I was wondering, too. Such a devastating storm, yet not much in the news about it. Take care!

In my area of North Carolina, the Piedmont region, we had higher winds and slightly less rain than with Florence. There were/are lots of power outages - my son was w/out power about 4 days. The power only blinked once at my house, but days after Michael blew through, I saw that a neighbor up my street had a huge tree come down and damaged their front porch and totaled their van.
