It all depends upon what you want to spend and how luxurious you want to go. You can find just about anything on the Internet. Here’s a modestly priced set to give you an idea of what is possible.

It's a simple room with good potential -- simple and calm -- just right for a bedroom:

- Yes, you need curtains. I vote for the simple drapes that will extend behind the nightstands. This will visually "widen" the window. What color? If you could find it, a white with a small /calm green pattern -- like a small green leaf pattern or a white with a green arabesque pattern. Of course, chances of finding that are slim.

- I'd go with larger -- or at least taller? -- and matching -- lamps. The smallish lamps you have now don't seem to have enough umph. If you go with curtains that're mostly green, I'd choose white ceramic lamps to match the bedding. If your curtains are white with a touch of green, I'd choose brass lamps (to avoid too much white).

- If your budget allows, add crown molding. In white.

- I'm glad the TV isn't staying where it is. It's kind of cramped in this space. Once it's gone, though, you'll need some artwork on the walls. I'd say a collection of family pictures in black frames.

I agree with matching lamps. I would also repeat the green somewhere, assuming the rug is staying.

For bedrooms, the bed needs to be positioned so that if you were laying in it your feet would be pointing toward the door by which you enter the room. So in this case, it is not possible to tell if that bed is facing the right direction or not. Assuming it is, then I think that headboard is too low to be up against that window. So I would hang drapery panels over that entire window to try and make that bed look more stately. Then white bedding is fine in terms of for the main pieces like sheets, but don't stop there. Get layering pieces to go over it to dress it up and to tone down the white and to bring in other neutral colors and textures. Then get two larger matching lamps. And then remove the TV.

LOL, cpaul1!!! OR the bed HAS TO be on the wall it fits on!! It is a rare room that gives a home owner multiple options for bed placement. I do wonder what is at the foot of the bed. Your TV does not make sense positioned as it is. Is there a wall it could hang on where Paul hopes there is a door? Your picture would be 100xs nicer if the mini blinds were open. I could never stand to have them stand alone. Your situation calls for full drapes, closed if anyone were to be seeing your room. Hung as suggested with no valance looks just silly.

Feng shui my tush : ) The bed is the elephant in the room. No room looks great until the bed does, and very few look good with the bed viewed sideways/behind you on an entry wall.......and rarely doe it look good unless in front of you as you enter. Well made, neat as a pin and fresh and clean. The bed......should invite you in. If you have a long wall adjacent to an entry, but away from the door, feet facing another wall? Yes fine. But it's rare. Happy feng, happy bed in that scenario.!

You do have white…the trim and the ceiling. So do white and don’t forget some green.

I do agree with cpaul that looking at the foot of bed when entering the room is the most flattering for the bed. Unfortunately, that arrangement isn’t always possible.

I think we all agree drapes are needed. @cpaul1, the photo does reflect the bed being moved to be the focal point when you enter (footboard does face the entrance to the room). The bed had previously been where the dresser was and it lacked balance due to a small window on the right of the dresser in the photo. That in itself dramatically shifted the room. Arch_gw, you think I need a valance? I’ve never been a fan...could you show me what you’re thinking? Jan, I agree with you on it feeling dark and dreary. That was part of the draw towards the white bedding. I love the bedroom set and the color; it was custom

made so I’m impartial to changing it. But I agree I need to do something to lighten the room. I like the idea of bigger lamps in a lighter color. Elizabeth, thank you for the renders; I like how you tied colors in with the accent pillow. I’ve ordered some fabric swatches to decide on the drapes and see what would tie everything together. JudyG, im thinking a fabric similar to that of the duvet in your photo for the drapes. And TV is not staying where it is; that’s planned for the wall opposite of the footboard and between the entrance and the closet door.
