Karen, how warm is you place? That might be a factor if your place is quite warm due to the mild weather.

Good point, my aptmt has been warm given all our recent warmish weather. I don't have a room thermometer, but I always have windows open a few inches & have still been walking around in shorts inside, 'til just this week.

Woodnative: interesting idea you suggested, that growth now is result of Summer's rhizome growth, hum ... sounds good; yeah fun to watch.

I got some just starting and then I have to bring them in the basement. Holding back the water during winter so I know it will stunt their growth but will pick back up when I bring them back out and start to over water them.

I'd find it frustrating to have to start them & stop them like that. Guess I'm fortunate to be able to keep them going year round, 1 of the few benefits of growing indoors only.

Here' s another Sans. that kicked in strong new growth, no ID gift from about 1 year ago.

This came to me w/ a pup in the pot, but a very peaty mix. I wanted a pumice based mix, so I repotted it & separated the pup, thinking it was large enough. Well I lost the pup, but it re-focused the plant's energy back int the center of the plant, which is fine w/ me! Look how nice.

Thank you Karen for posting this. I was going to say that it looks like my S. Coninna Spoon when I just remember I left it outside all this time. Just ran out and brought it in. Looks okay. It was out side with low's in the 30's. I didn't think a Sans could survive at freezing. It was very dry under my pine tree.
