Thanks for the reminder. I'm hoping the dog will be okay. It definitely is that time of the year. Tim and I have been wearing sturdy work boots everywhere just for a little extra protection. Here where we live, there's not a lot of concrete since most folks have gravel driveways, so the snakes will get on sidewalks, concrete porches, garage aprons, etc. to soak up the heat from the concrete. We mostly see them doing that in the evening hours or very early morning hours. Sometimes you see them in the gravel driveways, but our driveways are so wet and muddy that I haven't been seeing them there lately.

Is there a vaccine for rattlesnake bites? I just glanced at the vet care list at Tractor Supply yesterday--was in a hurry. If so, why isn't there a cooperhead bite vaccine?
