The first looks like stained pine to me. Hard to say what the second is, but it's not pine. I've seen a number of craftsman and pre-war houses where two types of wood was commonly used—oak or another 'expensive' wood in the public areas, like the dining and living room, and then pine in the private areas—kitchen, bedrooms, etc.
