unbalanced bedroom options

I am trying to determine options for my unbalanced room. I have one window on the left side of my bed. Currently I am considering adding nice window curtains on each side. The curtains would go behind my nightstands and the color would be amethyst. What do you think? What are other good options?

The first pic is my room. The second pic is an example of what I am considering

I like the idea, but with a caveat....

Could you take a long shot of the wall including some ceiling--showing how much space is between ceiling and headboard.

One of the issues with your room-- and the difference of the one used for as inspiration, is that headboard is shorter,

If you do curtains at the same level as top of headboard it may look off, so to get the same feel, I think you'll need to hang them much higher too,

Also, another solution may be just curtaining the whole wall

This is not the best picture but it shows the headboard and how it compares to the ceiling. The headboard is really tall so I would have to hang the curtains nearly touching the ceiling.

Your headboard is very pretty, but it overpowers the room. Your bedding is also pretty, but on my monitor it looks like a blush color; I would not do amethyst with it.

I lIke your idea of hanging curtains on either side of the bed as close to the ceiling as possible. Do you have more amerhyst color in the room? I think the curtain color needs to be repeated elsewhere in the room.

I just noticed you have different bedding in your first and second photos, so if you don't have the blush bedding anymore, ignore this.

Thank you!!! Thank you all so much!! My bed currently has the ivory/white bedding. I actually did not like the plush and returned to the store.

I never thought about having curtains on the entire wall but I like it.

Here is the Amethyst color. I plan to also add accent pillows on the bed and maybe a bed bench in that colors.
