Bumping this as we are interested in the suede too! I feel like their regular finish has more of a sheen than I'd prefer (seems to show fingerprints/smudges easily). Did you order? We are hoping to in another week or two!

I ordered suede and liked the finish but the quality and customer service were completely lacking. Cabinets came with a great deal of damage some of which we believe clearly happened in the factory, was very obvious, and cabinets were shipped despite the damage/defects. Some we believe clearly happened in shipping. Search the web. I wish I had before ordering. You will see many similar comments though I suspect posts are somehow removed (not necessarily on Houzz) as some of the posts I saw earlier on some sites do not seem to still be there. Kraftmaid surely deserved the reputation they once had and were at that time a very good and fair product for the price. They most certainly, based on our experience and in our opinion, DO NOT deserve that reputation at this point. Whether it is the result of having been sold to a large corporation with multiple product lines, picking-up big box business and volumes, or something entirely different does not really matter. Save yourself the nightmare we have had and buy something else. I would not have Kraftmaid cabinets at this point if someone offered to give them to me for free!

April, did you end up with the Suede finish? Do you like it? I’m curious about fingerprints and cleaning.

Also joining. We got samples of suade and it does show fingerprints so I was worried that it will be worse than the standard finish. It was difficult to remove because of the finish. We only have the sample so haven't lived with it to know for sure.

I have sold Kraftmaid for many years. We do sell alot of the suede topcoat. Everyone has been happy with it. There is no finish that will not show fingerprints. If you have olive oil on your hands that will show on everything including the countertops. It is inevitable. Some colors will show more than others - darker finishes for example.

Make sure to get good handles to encourage avoiding touching the doors all the time.

Take your time in deciding what to buy. Everything has long lead times and like someone had posted earlier, they are seeing damages in their brand new deliveries. These things are happening and it's happening to a lot of companies. It may be frustrating and aggravating having to wait for replacement parts to be sent, sometimes more than once, but this is the nature of this business. It is how the company handles things when something bad happens. I have never had a problem getting damage replacements.

Has anyone compared the two finishes (standard versus suede?) side by side? Does the matte suede topcoat mute or "gray" the paint finish color? It's hard to tell from the samples at Home Depot: most samples are old, dusty and shopworn and the KD cannot provide an answer... thank you!

We just received our cabinets with the suede topcoat. I absolutely love them so far but time will tell. We bought cherry cabinets with cannon gray finish. We are installing them tomorrow. We purchased them at Home Depot and we have a very unusual shaped kitchen and needed three of the cabinets custom made. They are great. We also had issues with two cabinets and they replaced them within a month. One was the wrong farm house sink base and the other was a measurement mistake from typing in a wrong dimension by the Home Depot order.

Laura Hurst could you post picks please? Cannon Gray Cherry suede is what we are considering, I'd love to see it!
