Fireplace mantle and t.v.

My husband just made us a fireplace mantle that I love. We have a very old t.v. but aren't going to buya new one just yet...maybe Boxing Day...however, we have a gold frame built around the t.v. just wondering from a Pro if we should take the gold frame off now. Also, wondering about the stain choice of the mantle...does it look too dark for our decor? I really want a modern farmhouse feel. I have included some other pics of our house so you can see if the mantle is too dark.

No need to be so aggressive. From the pictures they posted the rest of the home looks nicely decorated and finished. And I agree we need to see the area in question which is why I asked to see it...

I'm not a Pro. Just a pro at art and I definitely think you should do away with the gold frame. It clashes with your farmhouse style and color scheme. Mantle stain is alright. Photo is a little blurry. Hard to tell if it needs another coat.

A picture of the TV/Fireplace from further away would be better but definitely lose the gold frame. I'd move the TV off of the fireplace completely as it's too high, but the frame should go for sure.
