I like the herringbone but I am prejudiced, that it what I am getting in my master bath.

I like herringbone. However, to me it’s a “classy”, traditional way of laying tile. Broken joint to me is either more rustic feeling or more modern.

Not a designer so may not be using the right descriptors. I just prefer herringbone.

You're welcome! It's gonna mean a bit more cuts and a bit more waste but you're gonna love it!

If you want a background floor, lay it in the simple pattern. If you want it to have more presence, lay it in herringbone. I reflexively was attracted to the herringbone but I would avoid having too many things vie for your attention (IMO).

I would definitely go with herringbone. Broken joint is too similar (but not the same) as what you already have in your shower, so I think laying the floor tile that way will look off.

I would go with the broken joint. The herringbone makes too much of a statement and seems to be the current rage. I just prefer the simpler pattern.

Which layout did you decide? Can u post finished photos and whats the name of the floor tile you used? I really like it!

Really lovely. The herringbone was the perfect choice. It looks fabulous and classy. Much more interesting than the other choice without being overwhelming. Well done.
